Detective Division

The Sharonville Police Department’s Investigative Unit is commanded by a Detective Lieutenant and is comprised of four detectives. Based upon job performance, patrol officers apply for a position in the detective division. They are appointed for a five year period and have the opportunity to gain expertise and training in many facets of police work. The primary purpose of the investigative unit is to support the Patrol Division. The Patrol Division takes incident reports and if an extensive investigation needs to be conducted, that case will be forwarded to our Investigative Unit for follow-up and closure.

The Investigative Unit is also tasked with the responsibility of investigating drug complaints and vice investigations throughout the City. Our investigators work closely with outside agencies to facilitate our goal of reducing crime. We achieve this by identifying and targeting criminal activity, by using proactive investigative techniques and managing intelligence information.

The Investigative Unit is also responsible for intelligence gathering, forfeitures, and overdose/domestic violence follow-up.

The division has a wide variety of equipment needed to investigate crimes and to provide the best service possible to the citizens of Sharonville. The Investigation Unit utilizes state-of-the-art surveillance technology and equipment in our enforcement efforts.

We are very proud of the hard work and efforts that our team of investigators put forth on a daily basis. Our Detectives are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 day a year. It is this dedication that makes our unit so unique and a special part of the Sharonville Police Department.
