2008 Free Hazardous Waste Collection Program Opens March 18th
The typical home has between 60 and 100 pounds of hazardous waste stored in the basement, garage, or under the sink. Thermostats, motor oil and cleaners can be dangerous to a family’s health and the environment. To help residents properly dispose these items, the Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District (District) is conducting a free household hazardous waste collection program from March 17 through October 27 at two locations in Cincinnati. Those locations and times are:

Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
10163 Cincinnati-Dayton Road
Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The District will accept the following items: paint, pesticides, fertilizers, solvents/thinners, lawn or pool chemicals, cleaners, batteries, prescription drugs, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, mercury, florescent bulbs, driveway sealer, gasoline, antifreeze, motor oil and thermostats.
There are a few items that will not be accepted by the program. Those items include: radioactive materials, medical waste, explosives/ammunition, gun powder, heating oil tanks, tires, yardwaste, smoke alarms, garbage, roofing materials, appliances, computers/electronics and fuel tanks.
Federal law does prohibit the District from accepting hazardous waste from businesses, churches, schools, and non-profit organizations.
This program is for Hamilton County residents only! Be prepared to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill when you drop-off your materials. Upon arrival at the collection site, please remain in your car at all times.
