Citizens Police Academy

Have you every wondered what really happens at the police department?

Have you ever wondered what a police officer does on a daily basis?

The Sharonville Police Department periodically offers Police Academy for adults who work or live in the City of Sharonville. Participants will receive training and education on police orientated and community related topics. Our goal is to create understanding through education.

Participants will receive instruction and hands-on experience in many of the various aspects of police work. Participants can expect to learn more about:

  • The history of the Sharonville Police Department
  • Organization of the Sharonville Police Department
  • Patrol Techniques
  • Traffic Investigation
  • Criminal Investigation
  • Crime Scene Processing
  • Community Policing
  • D.A.R.E.
  • Issues related to Domestic Violence
  • Aspects of Criminal Law
  • Use of Force related issues
  • Firearms
  • S.W.A.T
  • Juvenile Crime
  • K-9

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a "ride-along" program, to fully understand what it is like to be a police officer.

The requirements for participation in the academy are that applicants must be 21 years of age and live and/or work in City of Sharonville. There is no cost for the academy.
